What is Turisme Garrotxa
Tourism Garrotxa (The Association of La Garrotxa Territory Tourist Welcome) is a private non-profit making association that has as its main objective the boosting and promoting of a model of sustainable tourism development of quality and respectful of the environment, while following the criteria and strategic directives from the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism.
The members are 20 town councils in La Garrotxa, the Consell Comarcal de la Garrotxa, the Consorci de l'Alta Garrotxa, La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, the Cases de Colònies de la Garrotxa group, the Associació de Turisme Rural de la Garrotxa, the Associació d'Activitats Turístiques de la Garrotxa, the Associació d'Hostalatge de la Garrotxa, the Associació de Càmpings de la Garrotxa, the Associació d'Allotjaments Rurals de la Garrotxa, the Associació de Turisme i Comerç de la Vall d'en Basthe, the Associació Catalana d'Empreses de Senderisme, the Associació d'Entitats d'Educació Ambiental (Verd Volcànic) and the Centre per a la Sostenibilitat Territorial.
All the tourism companies based in La Garrotxa that form part of some of the associations that are members of Tourism Garrotxa become "Tourist Services", unless they state otherwise.
Tourist companies that are already "Tourist Services", and that need more promotion, can request to be "Associated Tourist Services". This is dependent on their association being part of Tourism Garrotxa and provided their activity does not contradict its statutes. This is the group of companies that shares all Tourism Garrotxa services.
