Five new companies are accredited with the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism - 18/12/2009

There are now 19 companies committed to sustainable tourism development strategy of the Garrotxa region that is again a pioneer in terms of all of Spain and Europe with regard to accreditation of companies with the European Charter Sustainable Tourism.
The number of companies committed to sustainable tourism development strategy of Garrotxa to grow. If six months ago fourteen companies accredited by the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, yesterday they were five accredited.These companies were made a diagnosis of their environmental, and social ties with the territory, had to meet the basic conditions of accreditation set by the Park and the Spanish section of Europarc, and finally define a program of performances in three years that is the basis of their commitment to sustainable tourism in the region.

This accreditation reinforces and enhances the cooperation and collaboration between the Natural Park of Volcanic Zone Garrotxa (PNZVG) and the private tourism sector in the region, with tourism Garrotxa as key partner in this process.
The Nature and Tourism Garrotxa, meanwhile, also took commitments towards enterprises such as these promote tourism in a differential or encourage them into training.
With 19 companies currently accredited Garrotxa region is again a pioneer in Spain because it was the first park in Spain to obtain the CETS and now has been a pilot in the park system of accreditation of companies (plus 5 parks of Andalusia).
