How to get there - By public transport

Bus: At weekends buses run approximately every hour on the main routes, so to move around the county by public transport is complicated by the infrequent service on many routes.

City buses: The Bus Transversal runs between Sant Esteve d'en Bas and Castellfollit de la Roca, but only on weekdays. Olot has city buses (TPO), that run from Mon-Sat. Timetables

Taxi: Many towns in the county have a taxi service.

Car hire: In Olot there is the possibility of hiring a car to explore the county. The Olot Tourist Office has information on vehicle hire companies.

Train: There is no train service to La Garrotxa. The closest and largest train station to La Garrotxa, with the most and best connections, is at Girona. Right beside it is the bus station. Trains on the Mitja Distància and Grans Línies services from Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Montpellier, Zurich and Milan stop at Girona.

It is also possible to come by train to Ripoll, Vic or Figueres, but the bus services to La Garrotxa from these cities are very infrequent.
